If someone were to ask what is Christian Virtue? Frequently, the Apostle Paul used three simple yet profound words - Faith, Love and Hope - to describe our Christian Life on earth. (Colossians 1:4-5; Romans 5:2-5; I Corinthians 13:13; 1 Thessalonians 1:3).
The second word, love, in Greek is "agape" which denotes caring love, the love that counts no sacrifice too great for the one loved. It is this love that caused our Lord Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life on the Cross, the Just for the unjust, that He might reconcile us to God the Father. I Corinthians chapter 13 verses 4 to 8 gives a detailed description of love. This love is also poured in our hearts via the Holy Spirit to be shed abroad towards all sinners and all saints. Thus we go forth as witnesses, missionaries, preachers, pastors and ambassadors to the ends of the world to tell sinners of the good news that Christ came into the world to save sinners. As children of God, we manifest His love towards all saints, the people of God, in warm fellowship and brotherly concern.
We are reminded of the heart of the Law in the Old Testament, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself"
We are called to selfless service for our Lord and to other people. We reflect God's love to our non believers friends and also encourager to our brothers and sisters. This love comes from God and manifest it by loving other people.
